Michael Hiller
After working in two ASD territories Michael Hiller (MSME, BSME) responded to a greater need for FEA project consulting and mentoring by leaving the sales/Distribution Channel to become a consultant. As a consultant, he helped 100’s of clients and has even taught and written ANSYS training manuals, represented ANSYS at conferences and in the classroom. Michael is fluent in the traditional “ANSYS APDL Classic interface” as well as the latest Workbench & SpaceClaim environments. He can mix & match between all the ANSYS technologies including APDL programming to deliver the best solution every time. He has successfully supported and/or provided FEA mentoring and design services to the energy, electronics, medical, automotive, marine, aerospace and consumer product industries. With his proven combination of industrial + ANSYS “insider” expertise, he plays a key FEA role at Connekt. Michael has NEVER seen a problem he didn’t want to solve with ANSYS. We are proud to have Michael on our team. He is an industry leading mentor in the field of ANSYS and FEA analysis. “With the proven Mechanical Experience of Connekt, LLC and Michael’s strength in ANSYS & FEA, it is a perfect alliance to design, analyze, optimize, validate, and supply any OEM product. FEA reduces time to market, costs, and risk compared to lower-tech product development processes”.
Jay Baker
Jay Baker has over 35 years of experience developing successful professional video and audio products. He is currently a Principal at qadirect.com. Connekt, LLC is proud to announce the partnership with QA Direct. “With the proven Mechanical Experience of Connekt, LLC and QA Direct’s strength in Electronic Design and Production, it is a perfect partnership to design and supply any OEM product.” Jay’s career started with video tape recorders at Ampex. He then transitioned to the Sony Tech Center in Palo Alto during the early days of CDs, working directly with Ray Dolby (and his brother Dale). Jay played a key role in the heyday of Grass Valley Group and Abekas Video. Jay was CTO in charge of Marketing and Engineering at Sierra Video Systems for over a decade. Jay’s professional accomplishments are as follows:
- Awarded U.S. Patent Number 4,562,406 “Current controlled amplifier”
- Awarded U.S. Patent Number 4,532,604 “Predistortion circuit”
- Awarded U.S. Patent Number 4,520,276 “Zero-delay ramp generator”
- Awarded U.S. Patent Number 5,355,370 “Crosspoint matrix”
- Awarded U.S. Patent Number 5,285,283 “Depth signal processing in a video switcher”
Steve Erickson
Steve Erickson uses his degree in industrial design as a product designer covering a wide variety of products. He believes in Dieter Rams 10 Principles of good design and follows a less is more philosophy. Simplicity requires an underlying complexity and effort that few truly recognize or appreciate, which is as it should be. Good design is transparent. It is admired and appreciated yet blends seamlessly into one’s life without much thought. Steve’s professional accomplishments are as follows:
- Awarded U.S. Patent Number 8,011,918B2 for a device for applying filler material
David Kumpf
David Kumpf graduated from Drexel University in 2013 with a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering. He has worked in several industries including aerospace, medical, military, robotics, and automation. He has five years of experience with various 3D CAD software packages including Solidworks, ProEngineer, and Catia. No matter what industry he has worked in, David’s passion has been prototype design and fabrication. He excels at bringing ideas to life or improving an existing design.
